Monash student, Mai Bui, is helping to engineer a cleaner world. Using skills learnt as part of her Biomedical Science and Engineering degrees, she is part of Post Combustion Capture project. This exciting initiative, being run by CSIRO Energy Technology, is developing a process to remove CO2 from flue gas at a brown coal power plant ā before they escape into the atmosphere.
She was invited to join the team after taking student vacation employment with the CSIRO. This experience, plus her work with the Monash chapter of Engineers Without Borders, opened up a huge number of possibilities. For the moment though, her ambition is in the air, āIād like to go on to carry out research in the field of CO2 capture through a PhD.ā
