A wide range of scholarships are available for postgraduate research candidates at Monash University.
Over 300 living allowance (stipend-paying) scholarships are offered at the main central selection round, which closes on 31 October each year. Approximately 70 international scholarship winners are also offered fees awards to meet their tuition costs.
With a national and international reputation for excellence, Monash Engineering research ranges from the micro (and indeed the nano) to the macro.
Here, we are at the front line in developing the technologies of the future, such as:
nano-structuring and nano-manufacturing
bioengineering technology
aerospace technology
advanced polymers
advanced composites and alloys
intelligent robotics, and
cross-disciplinary areas like sustainable management of water resources and vision systems engineering.
At the same time we continue to work closely with industry on cutting-edge issues utilising existing technologies, such as condition monitoring and maintenance, asset management, cast metals and manufacturing.
Our ongoing success in raising competitive research funds means that we can support our gifted researchers with state-of-the-art laboratories and research infrastructure. Recent funding highlights include:
$14.5 million from the Australia Research Council for a Centre of Excellence in Design in Light Metals
$4.3 million for the Australasian Facility for Stormwater Biofilter Technologies
$3.6 million for the Centre for Power Transformer Monitoring, Diagnostics and Life Management.
We are also well placed to take advantage of the only synchrotron in Australia (it’s just next door to our Clayton campus!).
And like the talented students whose research they oversee, our enthusiastic and committed supervisors have established excellent reputations in their fields. Indeed, some of the world’s leading researchers are based at Monash.
We invite you to come and join our close-knit, supportive research community, and discover the benefits for yourself.
